Apple to Make iPhone 16 Pro Models Larger to Fit Periscope Lens

Posted on May 16, 2023May 16, 2023
Apple to Make iPhone

Apple is reportedly planning to make the Pro models of the iPhone 16 collection a bit larger than earlier models to create space for the periscope lens. The periscope lens is a new type of camera lens that can provide greater optical zoom than traditional lenses. It does this by using a prism to bend light, which allows the lens to be longer without making the phone thicker.

The periscope lens is expected to be included in both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models. The iPhone 16 Pro is expected to have a 6.3-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to have a 6.9-inch display. Both models are expected to be powered by the new A17 Bionic chip and have a triple-lens rear camera system.

The addition of the periscope lens is a major upgrade for the iPhone’s camera system. It will allow users to zoom in closer to subjects without losing image quality. The periscope lens is also expected to be used for new camera features, such as macro photography and portrait mode video.

The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are expected to be released in the fall of 2023. They are expected to start at $999 and $1,099, respectively.

Here are some additional details about the periscope lens:

  • The periscope lens is a type of telephoto lens that uses a prism to bend light. This allows the lens to be longer without making the phone thicker.
  • The periscope lens is expected to provide up to 10x optical zoom. This is significantly more than the 3x optical zoom that is currently available on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
  • The periscope lens is expected to be used for new camera features, such as macro photography and portrait mode video.
  • The periscope lens is a major upgrade for the iPhone’s camera system and is expected to be a popular feature with users.
