OSLO, NORWAY: InteliWell, the joint venture between Intellilift AS, Transocean, and RigNet, has announced that it has secured its first contract to supply its proprietary drilling automation solution to the Transocean Norge rig.
The solution, which consists of three complimentary software applications, will allow more efficient and consistent execution of drilling operations, reducing drilling time and costs for Wintershall Dea and OMV. The solution will also improve safety by reducing manual work and personnel exposure in red zones on the rig floor.
Transocean Norge, a harsh environment unit capable of conducting drilling operations in water depths up to 1,000 metres and maximum drilling depth of 12,200 metres, will commence a joint contract with Wintershall Dea and OMV for the drilling of 17 wells on the Norwegian continental shelf.
