EssilorLuxottica and Roger Federer sign licensing agreement for eyewear brand collaboration

PARIS, FRANCE: EssilorLuxottica and tennis legend Roger Federer have entered into an exclusive licensing agreement for the development, production, and global distribution of eyewear under the Roger Federer and Oliver Peoples brands.

The initial collection is expected to launch in the spring of 2024 and will draw inspiration from their shared commitment to excellence and love of understated luxury.

Francesco Milleri, CEO and Chairman of EssilorLuxottica, praised Federer as a “legendary athlete, a passionate entrepreneur, and a force in the worlds of fashion and lifestyle” and expressed his excitement about partnering with the tennis star.

Federer, who holds the record for most Wimbledon titles won by a male player and has won a total of 20 Grand Slam titles, said he is “thrilled” to collaborate with Oliver Peoples and praised their “exceptional craftsmanship alongside timeless, elegant designs.”

Rocco Basilico, CEO of Oliver Peoples, also expressed his excitement about the partnership and the “cultural impact” of Federer, whose charitable foundation has created educational opportunities for over 2.5 million children in Africa and Switzerland over the past two decades.
