Boss Energy appoints uranium executive Wyatt Buck as non-executive Chair
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Boss Energy Limited (ASX: BOE) notified that a highly experienced uranium executive Wyatt Buck has been appointed Non-executive Chair, effective immediately.
Wyatt Buck, who has been a Non-executive Director of Boss since October 2020, has extensive experience across the uranium industry, including senior roles with leading uranium projects such as Cameco’s (TSX: CCO) McArthur River and Paladin Energy’s (ASX: PDN) Langer Heinrich operations.
Wyatt Buck replaces Peter O’Connor, who has resigned as Non-executive Chairman and Director of Boss Energy to focus on his health.
Boss Energy Managing Director Duncan Craib said: “Since joining the Board and taking the Chairmanship in January, 2020, Peter has played a central role in Boss’ rapid growth and development.
“His corporate experience and deep understanding of financial markets was invaluable as we funded and advanced our strategy to prepare the Honeymoon uranium project for production.
“On behalf of the Board, I thank Peter for the immense contribution he made to Boss”.
Mr Craib said Mr Buck’s extensive experience across all aspects of the uranium industry meant he would play a leading role in the final preparations for production at Honeymoon.
“Honeymoon is on time and on budget, with production set for later this year,” he said. “Our focus is now on completing wellfield development, plant construction and offtake agreements.
“Wyatt has vast knowledge and experience in all these areas. He has been here and done it all several times, which will be extremely valuable to our Company as we prepare to be Australia’s next uranium producer.”
Boss also wishes to advise that it has appointed Derek Hall as Company Secretary, effective from today.
He replaces Mathew O’Hara. Mr Hall is a highly experienced Company Secretary, having worked with several companies across the resources, green energy and technology sectors. He is a Chartered Accountant, Fellow of the Financial Services Institute and Fellow of the Governance Institute.
Mr Craib said: “The Board thanks Mathew for his valuable contribution to the Company over the past four years and we look forward to working with Derek as we progress towards production”.
