LONDON, UK: Journeo plc (AIM: JNEO), the information systems and transport technical services group, has signed an agreement with Aircoach to provide real-time passenger information systems and on-vehicle hardware for shuttle services used to transfer passengers from the Dublin Airport Authority car parks to the terminals.
The total value of the agreement is expected to be £0.7m and will include software and support services over a five-year term. Delivery of the first tranche of new vehicles is due to commence in the first quarter of 2023, with £0.3m of Journeo’s equipment, software and services being commissioned during the first year.
Aircoach is an Ireland-based subsidiary company of First Group plc. It provides airport express coach services and contracted bus services for airport car parks and other private hire contracts in the Dublin area.
The Dublin Airport car park shuttle comprises 12 articulated Mercedes-Benz Citaro buses, with two Wright Eclipse bodied Volvo buses and a Wright Street-Lite used on staff shuttle duty.
As part of the agreement, Journeo will be providing software and systems to support and enhance the passenger experience. This will include Operation Management software that empowers users to make real time decisions to manage the status of their car park and inter-terminal transfer services through key metrics such as passenger flow. The management platform, contained within Journeo’s cloud SaaS solution, also monitors and generates journey predictions that are broadcast to existing display signage within the car parks, keeping passengers informed of when they can expect their transfer to commence.
Journeo will also supply and install a range of IoT connected technology including CCTV and telematics systems that will enable Aircoach to promote safe and fuel-efficient transport to and from the terminal buildings, all monitored through Journeo’s cloud SaaS platform.
Russ Singleton, Chief Executive of Journeo plc, commented: “Dublin will be the fourth implementation of our class-leading solution. Our software, displays technology and real time information management are already established at London Gatwick and London Stansted Airports, and are soon to go live at London Heathrow airport, enhancing the passenger transport experience and enabling the operators to deliver safe and efficient transfers. Projects within airports are growing in importance to our business, as we find new applications at the sites into which we can embed our core technology”.
