SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Challenger Limited (ASX: CGF) announced the appointment of Victor Rodriguez to the role of Chief Executive, Funds Management, effective 1 August 2022.
Challenger’s Funds Management division encompasses Challenger’s multi-affiliate platform, Fidante and Challenger Investment Management, an alternative investment manager covering Fixed Income and Real Estate investments.
Mr Rodriguez has been Challenger’s Head of Fixed Income since 2017. Prior to joining Challenger, Mr Rodriguez was based in Singapore and led Aberdeen Asset Management’s Asia Pacific Fixed Income business. He also spent more than 13 years with Credit Suisse Asset Management in a variety of investment roles.
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Nick Hamilton said: “Vic is a highly respected leader with considerable experience in funds management across both Australia and Asia.
Since joining Challenger in 2017, he has led strong growth in our Fixed Income business, including the launch of a range of credit funds targeting the high net wealth market, and growing Challenger’s third party institutional client business.
“Our Funds Management business is one of the largest active asset managers in the country and I am delighted to have Vic join our Leadership Team and help us pursue our strategy to broaden our customer and product reach.

Victor Rodriguez will continue to lead the Fixed Income business, in addition to his new role, to ensure business continuity until the team structure is finalised.
