LONDON, UK: Digital 9 Infrastructure announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, Digital 9 Wireless Limited, has completed the acquisition of Leeson Telecom Limited (Host Ireland), a leading enterprise broadband provider in Greater Dublin for a total consideration of approximately €60 million.
Host Ireland owns and operates the highest capacity licensed microwave-based Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) network in Greater Dublin.
It provides high quality, wireless broadband (up to 2 Gbps symmetrical) to 1,600 enterprise customers, including multinational corporates, government bodies and technology companies for which reliable connectivity is critical.
The acquisition is D9’s first investment into wireless infrastructure, one of the Company’s four target digital sub-sectors. The opportunity is in line with the Company’s focus on UN Sustainable Development Goal 9, with Host Ireland providing lower cost and lower latency connectivity to Irish businesses. The expected underlying earnings of this transaction are highly supportive of the Company’s target return policy.
Thor Johnsen, Head of Digital Infrastructure at Triple Point Investment Management LLP, commented: “We are very pleased to have completed the acquisition of Host Ireland, D9’s first wireless networks investment. The Host Ireland team has built a strong business and we look forward to working with them to accelerate the company’s expansion plans.”
