Alex Biro appointed MD & CEO of TEK-Ocean Group

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: TEK-Ocean Group has appointed Alex Biro as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Company effective 19 January 2022.

Alex Biro was a non-executive director and one of the original founders of the company. Alex has been a visionary leader at board level guiding TEK-Ocean from initial beginnings to strategic goals to where the Company is today.

Alex has attained numerous industry /academic credentials and holds a Master of Engineering degree (MEng) from Monash University.

Alex has over 35 years of local and international experience in the upstream and downstream subsea and offshore construction industry. His strong industry reputation is a testament of his ability to drive operational excellence to reliably delivering solid results for customers.

Alex gained a broad range of experience in the areas of equipment design, engineering, manufacturing to installations of production and exploration topsides and subsea systems, as well as with TEK Ocean driving new business activities.

Early in his career Alex was engaged in subsea services operations mainly working in the Timor Sea and the NWS before consulting to oil and gas operators in Australia, West Africa, the UK North Sea, South East Asia and most recently the USA.

For the past 18 years Alex’s focus has been in leadership roles for deep-water subsea infrastructure and underwater projects. Notable international projects include Xikomba/Kizomba ExxonMobil (Angola), Jubilee Tullow (Ghana), Liwan Husky (China) and most recently, Golfinho (Mozambique) LNG.

Alex has also led up a number of successful decommissioning projects in the Bass Strait.

Group Chairman, Mr Brendan Brown noted on behalf of the board that through his many years with the company Alex has demonstrated that he possesses the skills, knowledge, aptitude, attitude, interest and capability to lead the management team at T3K to deliver future success and growth for its shareholders.

Mr Biro said he looked forward to further developing and implementing TEK-Ocean Group’s strategy. Mr Biro stated: “I am truly honoured to have been offered this executive leadership role in the company and I will be taking this responsibility that accompanies this office to the uppermost potential.”
