SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Spacetalk Ltd. (ASX: SPA), developer of innovative technologies that keep families safe and connected, announced the commencement of sales of Spacetalk smartphone watches through Woolworths Mobile.
Woolworths Mobile is a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) and the flagship retail telecommunications offering of the Woolworths Group.
As an MVNO, Woolworths Mobile uses parts of the Telstra Mobile Network that cover more than 98.8% of the population with 3G and 97.9% of the population with 4G.
MVNOs are a growing part of the mobile phone industry globally, increasingly capturing market share by targeting more affordable and flexible offerings; achieving this by purchasing minutes, messages and data at wholesale prices, but not operating the network infrastructure or retail stores.
As part of the go-to-market, Spacetalk will feature in Woolworths Supermarket digital catalogues, be part of targeted eDMs to the Woolworths Everyday Rewards base, and SMS campaigns to the Woolworths Mobile base.
Head of Woolworths Mobile, James McMurrough said: “At Woolworths Mobile we are always looking at ways to bring value to our customers, and smartphone watches are the fastest growing category of wearables. We are very excited to enter a partnership with Spacetalk, enhancing the value proposition for Woolworths Mobile customers.”
Spacetalk CEO Mark Fortunatow said: “Woolworths is a household name synonymous with mass market retail and trusted by consumers. Its flagship telco offering –Woolworths Mobile–is growing rapidly in a competitive market, benefiting from the pedigree of trust and large, loyal customer base of the Group. We are delighted about commencing sales through Woolworths Mobile and believe that its commitment to growing the category with Woolworths Group customers, will enable us build a very successful partnership together.”
