LONDON: Porvair Plc announced the acquisition of Kbiosystems Limited.
Kbiosystems is based in Basildon, UK and specialises in the design and manufacture of laboratory instruments, with particular expertise in automated microplate handling systems.
On 25 February 2021, the Group acquired 100 per cent. of the share capital of Kbiosystems, which reported revenue of £3.8 million in the year ended 31 March 2020.
Kbiosystems will continue to operate from its existing premises and will be integrated into the Group’s Laboratory division.
Commenting on the acquisition, Ben Stocks, Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted that Kbiosystems has joined the Group. We have known the business for many years and there is a good fit between our laboratory consumables business and Kbiosystems instrument automation expertise. Together the businesses have a compelling offering for laboratories seeking to automate their sample testing processes.”
Porvair is a group of specialist filtration, separation and environmental technologies businesses. Its products are used in a range of niche filtration and separation markets, and are derived from its expertise in the design and manufacture of filtration and separation systems. It is organised into three divisions: Aerospace & Industrial; Laboratory; and Metal Melt Quality.
