Australian Unity appoints Christine Yates as CEO –Retail 1
Established in 1840, Australian Unity is Australia’s first member-owned wellbeing company, offering members and customers health, wealth and care services.

SYDNEY: Australian Unity announced that Ms Christine Yates will be appointed as the Chief Executive Officer – Retail with effect from 17 August 2020.

Ms Yates began her career as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte and KPMG before moving into institutional and investment banking, working for a range of global and domestic organisations, including Citigroup and NAB. Ms Yates has most recently held leadership roles focusing on customer experience, business development, new technology and the development of her teams.

Ms Yates will bring her demonstrated skills in driving growth and transformation, deep financial acumen and decision-making centred around customers.

Ms Yates has major transaction experience in property and infrastructure and is adept at operating in high demand business environments.

In announcing the appointment, Australian Unity’s Group Managing Director, Mr Rohan Mead said “I am delighted Christine will be joining our team, Christine is an innovative, values driven leader who is focused on creating sustainable businesses that make sense. Christine’s leadership and interpersonal style will transfer well to Australian Unity and I am confident she will have a substantial impact in the group as we move through our next growth phase.”

Ms Yate’s appointment comes after the resignation of Mr Matt Walsh asthe Chief Executive Officer – Retail.
