SYDNEY: Flexiroam Limited announced that in a landmark partnership with Mastercard, the Flexiroam global data plan is now offered for the first time as benefits to cardholders, with select cardholders in Taiwan as the first beneficiaries of the program.
Eligible Mastercard cardholders will be rewarded with five days of global roaming data of up to 1 GB. This reward can be used in over 100 countries and on more than 200 networks that Flexiroam is affiliated with. As a bonus, the Mastercard cardholders are also entitled to a 15% discount on all Flexiroam data plans when purchased with their Mastercard.
“We’re enthused that selected issuers of Mastercard have set their sights on the future of travel as the world begins to open its doors again,” said Jef Ong, Chief Executive Officer of Flexiroam. “Travel bans are being lifted now and these Mastercard benefits are essential because everyone needs to travel, and everyone needs to stay connected.”
With Flexiroam’s innovative eSIM technology, customers are rid of the cumbersome swapping of SIM cards on their phones when they travel. The eSIM is a digitally downloaded SIM, providing convenience and the safety of contactless transactions for customers. A few taps on their smartphones and travellers are conveniently connected to multiple networks around the world at competitive roaming rates. In this way, Flexiroam ensures customers can travel the world and stay in touch on their terms.
Flexiroam advises that the partnership is on normal commercial terms and will see the distribution of a variety of reward packages in the coming months to cardholders in Asia Pacific. This strategic collaboration with Mastercard is expected to have an impact on the number of Flexiroam’s global subscribers and user base.
