Norwood signs agreement to provide additional world voicemail services to Spark

Posted on January 30, 2020

Norwood signs agreement to provide additional world voicemail services to Spark 1SYDENY: Norwood Systems Ltd announced the signing of a further agreement with Spark New Zealand Trading Limited for the provision of additional Norwood World Voicemail services to Spark.

Under the Agreement, Norwood will provide Spark with a Spark-branded version of Norwood’s existing hosted World Voicemail service and application, for use exclusively in New Zealand, that will be available on the New Zealand App Stores.

Spark will promote its branded version–Spark Voicemail –to its business subscribers. The Company’s pre-existing agreement with Spark remains unchanged. This new Agreement, which comes into effect immediately and is anticipated to continue until 30 June 2020, is required in order to encourage the adoption of advanced voicemail services to Spark users as an alternative to Spark’s internally hosted voicemail services, which Norwood is also contracted to deliver.

Spark will encourage subscribers to sign up for the service at either a monthly or annual price. The new subscription revenue arising from this hosted service will be shared between the parties.

Norwood’s CEO and Founder, Paul Ostergaard, said: “We are looking forward very much to seeing the expected positive impact that this hosted service launch will have on our immediate near-term revenues and cash flows.“This new agreement further deepens our relationship with Spark. It demonstrates the value that telco operators see in being able rapidly to offer differentiated voicemail services to targeted customer segments, including the simplicity of delivering a consistent user experience across both Apple and Google smartphone ecosystems.

“We are looking forward to working with Spark on this and future collaborations. We have demonstrated through our year-long collaboration that Norwood can deliver hosted, carrier-grade services that a telco operator can rely on.”

While the Company is not in a position to forecast revenue at this stage, it anticipates providing further, regular updates to the market, as expected material revenues start to develop from the agreement.

Final pricing of the service will be set immediately prior to release on the New Zealand App Stores. As New Zealand’s largest telecommunications and digital services company, Spark provides mobile, broadband and digital services to millions of New Zealanders and thousands of New Zealand businesses.
