MUMBAI: Steel Authority of India Ltd, Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd, JSW Steel Ltd and CEAT Ltd have made an application to list Commercial Paper at BSE for an Issue Size of Rs. 1,800 Crores, Rs. 1,100 Crores, Rs. 335 Crores and Rs. 50 Crores, respectively.
BSE, Asia’s oldest exchange, announced the Framework for Listing of Commercial Paper, enabling the listing on BSE for commercial papers issued on or after November 27, 2019. Post process, the effective date of listing for the same at BSE is December 24, 2019.
Till date 19 Issuers have done 43 issuances of Commercial Paper and have successfully listed CPs of Rs. 22,170 Crores on BSE. The weighted average yield of these issuances is 5.40 % with an average tenor of 106 days.
BSE is steering its efforts to help India Inc in raising funds. In F.Y. 2019-20, BSE’s Debt Platforms have enabled corporate India to list debt instruments worth Rs. 3,33,065.44 crores ($ 46.09 billion) as on (December 23, 2019). Of this, BSE has successfully raised Rs. 2,16,353 crores ($ 30.42 billion) with market share of around 60% via BSE BOND platform (as on December 23, 2019). This platform was launched in July 2016 and garnered fund raising of Rs. 9,22,835 crores ($ 129.74 billion) since inception.
