Rentokil Initial names Rafael Carrasco as North America CEO

LONDON: Rentokil Initial plc said Thursday it has appointed Rafael “Rafa” Carrasco as chief executive officer of its North America business, effective Aug. 3.

Carrasco joins the pest control and hygiene services company from WM (formerly Waste Management Inc.), where he most recently served as president of WM Healthcare Solutions and senior vice president of strategy, a statement said.

In those roles, he oversaw more than 200 branches and over 10,000 employees across the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland and Western Europe.

He brings extensive experience in route-based, recurring revenue models serving both commercial and residential customers.

During his 10-year career at WM, Carrasco also led the company’s East region and served as SVP of strategy, where he led enterprise transformation initiatives. He also led the integration of Stericycle, a $7.2 billion acquisition.

Carrasco holds a BBA in marketing and an MBA in operations management from the University of Houston.

Alain Moffroid, who has been serving as interim CEO of North America, will remain on the region’s leadership group to support the transition through the end of 2027.

“He is an execution-focused leader, committed to colleagues and culture, and enhancing the customer experience,” Mike Duffy, CEO of Rentokil Initial, said of Carrasco.

Carrasco said his focus will be on “driving operational excellence, putting our people first, and building a truly customer-obsessed organization.”

Rentokil Initial employs about 63,400 people in 90 countries. The company is listed on the FTSE and New York Stock Exchanges under the symbol RTO.
