LONDON: Partners Group Private Equity Limited (PGPE Ltd) announced Monday the sale of Clario, a leading provider of clinical trial data solutions, to Thermo Fisher Scientific. The transaction, subject to customary regulatory approvals, is expected to close by the end of the second quarter of 2026.
Clario, headquartered in Philadelphia, is PGPE Ltd’s eighth-largest portfolio company, valued at approximately EUR 27.5 million as of Aug. 31, 2025. The sale aligns with PGPE Ltd’s latest published net asset value.
PGPE Ltd initially invested EUR 13.5 million in eResearch Technology (ERT) in 2020, later participating in a follow-on round to support ERT’s merger with BioClinica in 2021, which led to the formation of Clario.
Clario’s technology platform has supported more than 30,000 clinical trials and contributed to 70% of FDA and EMA drug approvals over the past decade. With nearly 50 years of expertise, the company serves pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device firms globally.
PGPE Ltd, founded in 1999 and domiciled in Guernsey, is managed by Partners Group, a global private markets investment firm with over USD 174 billion in assets under management. PGPE Ltd is listed on the London Stock Exchange under tickers PEY (Euro) and PEYS (Sterling).
