New York: Expert Institute, the legal industry’s top provider of expert witness services and litigation intelligence, has acquired ExpertConnect Litigation Support (ECLS), a boutique firm known for its high-profile network of specialists in complex regulatory, commercial, and IP disputes.
The deal strengthens Expert Institute’s dominance in the expert witness market, adding ECLS’s roster of elite testifiers and its blue-chip client base, which includes AmLaw 100 firms, Fortune 500 corporations, and U.S. government agencies. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.
“This acquisition expands the breadth of our expert network and deepens our ability to support elite litigators with even more specialized expertise and white-glove service,” said Michael Talve, Founder and CEO of Expert Institute.
ECLS, founded by former Skadden attorney and federal appellate clerk Eric Broyles, has carved out a niche in high-stakes pharmaceutical, securities, and patent litigation. Broyles will stay on as a shareholder and strategic advisor, ensuring continuity for clients.
“Expert Institute is the ideal partner to build on the culture and standard of excellence our clients expect,” Broyles said. “Their technology and innovation will raise the bar for what’s possible in this industry.”
The integration will fold ECLS’s specialists into Expert Institute’s proprietary Expert iQ platform, enhancing tools for vetting, hiring, and managing expert witnesses. The move signals Expert Institute’s aggressive push to consolidate its position as the go-to resource for complex litigation support.
With demand for specialized expert witnesses surging in regulatory and IP battles, the acquisition gives Expert Institute an even sharper edge in a competitive, high-margin sector.
