VANCOUVER, BC: Callinex Mines Inc. has announced the signing of an option agreement with Voyageur Mineral Explorers Corp. to acquire a 100% interest in the Alberts Lake Project. This acquisition is part of a broader initiative to expand the company’s flagship Pine Bay Project, which now spans over 11,859 hectares in the prolific Flin Flon Mining District of Manitoba.
The Pine Bay Project, renowned for its vast felsic volcanic complexes, is poised to become even more significant with this expansion. The project unites the Baker Patton and Alberts Lake Felsic Volcanic Complexes, known for hosting the majority of the region’s copper, gold, silver, and zinc Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) deposits.
Max Porterfield, President and CEO of Callinex, expressed his enthusiasm for the consolidation, stating that it marks a considerable milestone for the company. “With our high-grade copper discoveries progressing, we’re excited to apply our proven exploration model to the high-grade copper and gold targets within the newly acquired land,” said Porterfield.
Jim Pickell, a key member of Callinex’s technical team, shared his eagerness to explore the Baker Patton Felsic Volcanic Centre’s mineral potential further. “The opportunity to delve into the Baker Patton Centre’s VMS endowment, associated with intense geochemical alteration zones, is thrilling,” Pickell commented. He highlighted the significance of the northernmost fault corridor, identified by Callinex in 2015, which has seen limited exploration but holds great promise for new discoveries.
With this new land acquisition and the application of Callinex’s geological, geochemical, and geophysical insights, the company is set to embark on a new chapter of exploration in the Flin Flon region.
