STRASBOURG: Biosynex, a French diagnostic testing group, has secured a firm commitment from an unnamed pharmaceutical industry buyer to purchase its in-house molecular biology business for about €4 million, the company announced May 25.
The sale remains subject to approval by the court-appointed liquidator overseeing Biosynex’s safeguard proceedings and the release of liens held by secured creditors on the divested assets. The company expects those conditions to be lifted in early June 2026.
Proceeds from the sale will be deposited into an account at the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, the French deposits and consignments fund, and will remain unavailable during the company’s observation period under safeguard proceedings.
The transaction includes the Ampliflash and Ampliquick product lines, along with related technology assets, production and the dedicated research and development team. Biosynex said it would continue to subcontract production of those products during a transition period and that existing customer and distributor commitments would be honored.
“This sale represents a key step in the evolution of our strategic roadmap,” CEO Larry Abensur said in a statement. “It allows our molecular biology division to join an industrial environment capable of accelerating its technological deployment, while providing Biosynex with additional financial resources in the preparation of its safeguard plan and strengthening its positions in its priority markets.”
The divestment is part of Biosynex’s broader strategy to streamline its portfolio and focus on family health, biotherapy monitoring and rapid tests.
Founded in 2005 and based in Illkirch-Graffenstaden, Alsace, Biosynex employs nearly 400 people and has direct operations in 10 countries. The group reported €95.2 million in revenue for 2025. It is listed on Euronext Growth Paris under the symbol ALBIO and is eligible for the French SME stock savings plan, known as PEA-PME.
The company’s pharmacy division markets self-diagnostics and family health products to pharmacies, while its diagnostic division supplies hospitals, laboratories and physicians with rapid tests, molecular biology tools and point-of-care solutions.
Biosynex gained an international footprint in rapid diagnostics following the COVID-19 pandemic, driven in part by an external growth strategy.
