PARIS: Eutelsat has appointed Jean-François Fallacher as its new CEO, marking a leadership transition aligned with the company’s evolving role in the telecom ecosystem. The appointment was approved at a Board Meeting on May 4, 2025, following the recommendation of the Nomination and Governance Committee. Fallacher will assume the position effective June 1.
Fallacher, a seasoned telecom executive, joins Eutelsat after a long tenure at Orange, where he most recently served as Executive Vice President and CEO of Orange France. His career at Orange spans leadership roles in Spain, Romania, and Poland, as well as R&D, sales, and operations positions, including COO of Wanadoo in the Netherlands and CEO of Sofrecom, a telecom consulting firm. He is a graduate of France’s Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications.
Fallacher succeeds Eva Berneke, who has led Eutelsat since January 2022, overseeing its strategic transformation, including the 2023 merger with OneWeb to form the world’s sole LEO-GEO satellite operator, its designation as a key player in the EU IRIS2 constellation, and the divestment of its passive ground segment.
“On behalf of myself, Vice-Chairman Sunil Bharti Mittal, and the Board, I extend my deepest gratitude to Eva Berneke for her visionary leadership during this critical period in Eutelsat’s evolution,” said Eutelsat Chairman Dominique D’Hinnin. “As Jean-François steps in, I am confident that his expertise and experience will guide the company toward continued success.”
Fallacher expressed enthusiasm for his new role: “I am thrilled to join Eutelsat at such an important juncture. Satellite connectivity is increasingly vital in today’s geopolitical and technological landscape, and I look forward to working with the talented teams at Eutelsat to build on its strong foundation and advance its strategic goals.”
Eutelsat is set to release its Third Quarter 2024-25 revenues after market close on May 15, 2025, reaffirming its fiscal-year objectives.
