Procaps Group announces José Antonio Vieira as new CEO as founder steps down

MIAMI: Procaps Group, a leading LatAm healthcare and pharmaceutical conglomerate, has announced that José Antonio Vieira will take over as the new Chief Executive Officer of the company, effective January 15, 2024.

He will replace Ruben Minski, the founder and current CEO of Procaps, who will transition to the role of Executive Chairman of the Board.

Ruben Minski has led Procaps for over 45 years, transforming it into a global leader in pharmaceutical innovation. He has achieved numerous milestones and positively impacted countless lives.

The Board of Directors expressed its deep gratitude to Ruben Minski for his unwavering commitment and outstanding leadership throughout the years.

As Executive Chairman of the Board, Ruben Minski will continue to provide strategic guidance, drawing upon his wealth of experience and industry knowledge.

He said that he was delighted to have José Antonio Vieira joining Procaps, and that he was confident that he would help the company move to its next development phase.

José Antonio Vieira has over 30 years of experience in the international pharmaceutical market, having worked for companies such as Novartis, Abbvie and AstraZeneca in Brazil, Portugal, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

He has held various commercial and leadership positions, including Country President, Global Commercial VP and CEO. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of several healthcare companies in Brazil.

He holds a degree in Economics, two MBAs and an Advanced Management Program for Senior Leaders from Harvard Business School.

José Antonio Vieira said that he was honored with the new challenge and that he was eager to lead the next chapter of Procaps as CEO.
