Carbonxt Group appoints Regina Rodriguez as CEO for US subsidiary

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Carbonxt Group Ltd (ASX:CG1), a US-focused Cleantech company that provides activated carbon (AC) solutions for water treatment, has announced the appointment of Regina Rodriguez as Chief Executive Officer of its US subsidiary, Carbonxt Inc, effective immediately.

Ms Rodriguez, who has been with the Company for 10 years, will lead the US business as it expands its market presence and product portfolio.

Ms Rodriguez has a doctorate degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Florida, where she received the prestigious National Science Foundation Graduate Student Fellowship. She is a leading researcher in the field of water-quality technologies, holding nine patents and publishing several papers. She has been instrumental in the manufacturing implementation of Carbonxt’s two production facilities and has managed its top clients from a business development and sales perspective.

The appointment of Ms Rodriguez is part of an internal restructure of the US executive team, as Carbonxt’s flagship AC production facility in Kentucky — NewCarbon, LLC — a joint investment with its US partner Kentucky Carbon Processing, LLC (KCP) — advances towards the commencement of operations. Dr. David Mazyck, who was previously the CEO of Carbonxt Inc, has been appointed President of NewCarbon, LLC and will oversee the construction and development of the facility. Dr. Mazyck is also a renowned researcher in Environmental Engineering, with a PhD from the University of Florida and several awards and publications.

Carbonxt Group Managing Director Warren Murphy said: “It is our pleasure to announce the appointment of Ms Rodriguez as CEO of Carbonxt Inc, at what marks a particularly exciting juncture for our US business. Regina combines a strong research background with a deep understanding of commercial applications in the US water treatment industry. Along with her contribution to the business to-date, this unique skillset makes her the ideal candidate for the Carbonxt, Inc. CEO role and marks the logical next step in her career. Concurrently, the appointment allows David Mazyck to focus exclusively on operational development at the NewCarbon facility, as construction activity ramps up. We look forward to working with Regina and David in their new roles as the Company continues to capitalise on its major addressable market opportunity in the US water treatment market.”
