Legit Security, a Palo Alto-based cybersecurity startup, announced today that it has raised $40 million in a Series B funding round led by CRV. The round also saw participation from existing investors Cyberstarts, Bessemer Venture Partners, and TCV.
Legit Security is the creator of a platform that helps organizations identify and fix app vulnerabilities from code. The platform provides real-time visibility and security control across development environments, enabling developers to deliver secure applications faster and more efficiently. Legit Security is part of the emerging category of security tools known as Application Security Posture Management (ASPM), which helps manage application risk by collecting, analyzing, and prioritizing security issues throughout the software lifecycle.
The company plans to use the new funds to expand its sales, marketing, and R&D teams, as well as to grow its customer base. Legit Security currently has 78 employees and aims to increase its headcount to over 100 by the end of the year. The company’s customers include Google, the New York Stock Exchange, Kraft Heinz, and Takeda Pharmaceuticals.
