ZTX secures $13 million seed funding for its web3 metaverse and creator platform

ZTX, a web3 virtual world and creator platform, has announced that it has raised $13 million in seed funding from a group of investors led by Jump Crypto, a crypto-focused investment firm.

The funding round also included Collab+Currency, Parataxis, MZ Web3 Fund, Everest Ventures Group, and others.

ZTX is a collaboration between Jump Crypto and Zepeto, a web2 metaverse platform that has over 400 million lifetime users and is the fourth largest in the world. Zepeto has also partnered with well-known brands such as Gucci, Starbucks, and Blackpink.

ZTX aims to leverage its existing resources and user base to drive the adoption of web3 technology among global audiences. Web3 is a term that refers to the decentralized and distributed web that is powered by blockchain and other technologies. Web3 enables users to have more control, ownership, and privacy over their digital assets and identities.

ZTX’s vision is to provide an infrastructure layer for creators to build and monetize their own 3D digital assets, such as NFTs (non-fungible tokens), wearables, games, and experiences. NFTs are unique and verifiable digital items that can represent anything from art to music to collectibles.

ZTX’s co-CEO, Chris Jang, said: “We have been building steadily and discreetly for well over a year, and with our token launch happening in the coming months we want to emphasize the commitment that our investors, just like our team, have toward our vision to provide an infrastructure layer to creators.”

ZTX’s team consists of experienced professionals from leading companies such as Apple, Roblox, Epic, EA, as well as experts from web3 ecosystems like Cosmos, Flow, and Solana.

ZTX has recently introduced a private beta test of its upcoming 3D open-world platform called Playtest. ZTX has also partnered with Dust Labs to launch ZTX Partner Wearables, a community-centric initiative that enables IP partners to create 3D assets for use in the open-world environment.

In the near future, ZTX plans to launch its Genesis Home Mint, offering a collection of 4,000 unique 3D District Homes. Holders of these homes will gain benefits such as membership in one of the four Districts (Arts, Financial, Fashion, Games), special access to future drops and events, and enhanced gameplay within ZTX, according to VentureBeat.
