Mineral Commodities appoints Scott Lowe as CEO

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Mineral Commodities Ltd, a mining company with projects in South Africa and Norway, has announced the appointment of Scott Lowe as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective from 1 September 2023.

Scott Lowe is a senior mining executive with more than 35 years of experience in various commodities and countries. He is currently the Managing Director of Firefinch Ltd, a gold and lithium producer in Mali, and will leave that role on 31 August 2023.

He has previously worked with South32 in Australia and as CEO of ArcelorMittal’s iron ore mining business in Liberia. He has also been the CEO of several listed exploration and development companies and held senior management positions in BHP and Peabody Pacific.

Scott Lowe has a proven track record of delivering results in challenging environments, such as achieving record production and low costs in West Africa during the pandemic and managing the start-up of new mines in South Africa and West Africa.

He also has extensive commercial experience in dealing with public markets, raising capital, and negotiating joint ventures with major mining companies such as BHP and Glencore.

Scott Lowe has a strong reputation for building positive relationships with governments, communities, employees and unions, as well as other external stakeholders.

He holds an MBA, a degree in Mining Engineering, a Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency, and a Diploma in Marine Terminal Operations.
