SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Spacetalk Ltd announced the appointment of Simon Crowther as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director, effective 6 February 2023.
Spacetalk’s Chairman Georg Chmiel said, “Following an extensive global search, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Simon Crowther as Spacetalk’s new CEO. Simon’s track record at Nearmap is outstanding and we are excited to see what he will achieve at Spacetalk. I’d also like to thank Saurabh Jain. As the interim CEO he has done a fantastic job of the first phase of the turnaround. Saurabh will continue as a director of the Company.”
Mr Crowther is the former CEO of unicorn Nearmap (ASX: NEA) where he took over from the founder and lead the company’s growth, international expansion and explosion in market cap. After Nearmap, he served as the CEO of Airmap, and more recently as the Managing Director of Yamaha Motor Ventures in Silicon Valley with a focus on Aerotech & Sustainability. Simon is currently based in Vancouver and will be relocating to Australia as part of this role.
