PSW enters strategic agreement with Cameron

OSLO, NORWAY: Scana-owned PSW Technology has signed an exclusive licence agreement with global oil service provider Cameron, a Schlumberger company.

The agreement, which is the first in Norway for both Cameron and PSW, will enable PSW to recertify Cameron marine risers as per OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) standards. PSW will perform all work, exchange parts, weld and certify the equipment and Cameron will treat PSW’s certificate of conformity (COC) as OEM original.

The licence agreement is exclusive to Norway (on- and offshore), but also allows PSW to undertake business from the UK. The agreement has a firm period of 1 year, with additional options.

For PSW, reaching this agreement is an important strategic step in its relationship with Cameron, the OEM. It allows for an even closer partnership providing added value for customers of both PSW and Cameron.

“The agreement enables our clients to reduce time spent on recertification, with the potential for inspections to be carried out offshore while all repair work is performed inhouse at PSW Mongstad. Furthermore, the agreement simplifies the recertification process by giving our customers one supplier to relate to – instead of having several, which often is the case today,” Oddbjørn Haukøy, CCO in Scana ASA, explains.

PSW Technology and Cameron have worked closely together since 2012.
