OSLO: SoftOx Solutions AS has received the results of the inhalation studies in minipigs, which show very promising results with the intention to further develop the company’s technology into a treatment of respiratory infections, including Covid19 patients.
The results indicate that they have found “safe” concentrations that do not damage the airways and at the same time show an antimicrobial effect.
“With our gentle and efficient technology, we now plan for the first studies in humans (phase I). Unlike many other treatments, our treatment directly inactivates the Corona virus “, says Geir Almås, CEO of SoftOx Solutions AS.
The company has arranged for a meeting with the Danish Medicines Agency to discuss the further development path for a drug.
“We are optimistic about achieving a process to patients with a so-called ‘fast track’ recommendation,” says Glenn Gundersen, Medical Director of SoftOx Solutions AS.
