LONDON, UK: WANdisco, the live data company for machine learning and AI, announced progress on the Company’s strategic joint product initiative with Microsoft which is expected to enter public availability in Q1 2020. Fusion Resource Provider (FRP) is a jointly developed solution with Microsoft which will deeply embed WANdisco’s Fusion technology into the data fabric of the Azure cloud.

When generally available the product will appear as a native Microsoft product and thereby unleash the collective strength of the Microsoft seller network.

The continued development and public launch of this solution is the primary focus of the Group in H1 2020, providing significant future revenue opportunities that are expected to reshape the Group’s growth profile.

The Fusion Resource Provider (FRP) product is progressing towards general availability at pace.

The first critical phase of customer deployment has now been entered, the ‘private preview’ phase. Private preview signifies the availability of the product to select, existing Microsoft customers to address their data migration and data availability requirements and to provide product feedback ahead of the revenue generating ‘public preview’ expected in Q1 2020.

General availability will follow this public preview, launching the full joint go-to-market strategy and the expected inflection point for volume and velocity of deals. A number of customers, including one of the world’s largest retailers and a global systems integrator with over 100,000 employees have agreed to participate in the private preview.

Once deeply embedded in Microsoft’s Azure cloud, the jointly developed solution will:

  • Act as a native Azure offering, providing the fastest and simplest way to establish data connectivity from on-premises to cloud storage and between cloud regions.
  • Provide seamless customer experience and appear like an Azure first party service.
  • Deliver tight integration, reducing deployment complexities by eliminating the need for customers to plan data deployment or accommodate networking and storage options.
  • With this embedded solution, application developers will for the first time be able to rely upon guaranteed data availability at scale and across any data location. This enables the acceleration of distributed application development without fear of data loss or data consistency issues. As such, data availability becomes part of the fabric of application development in the cloud.

The Company expects to update the market on the progress of the private and public preview phases ahead of the full launch of general availability and joint go-to-market.

David Richards, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of WANdisco commented: “Our partnership with Microsoft has been transformative for the Company and we are thrilled that our joint solution is now in the final phases prior to general availability.

“It is a sign of great encouragement and pride that two of Microsoft Azure’s largest customers are engaging in the private preview phase to be the first to gain access to this inimitable solution.

“We look forward to working closely with Microsoft over the coming months as our joint product becomes publicly accessible for the first time in Q1.”
