MINNEAPOLIS: WSB LLC, a national infrastructure engineering and consulting firm, announced Tuesday it has acquired Agbara Engineering, a power delivery engineering firm. The strategic acquisition enhances WSB’s ability to support the full lifecycle of energy infrastructure for clients.
The deal brings more than 50 employees from Agbara into WSB. Combined, the firm now has nearly 1,600 employees operating from over 50 offices nationwide.
“The acquisition of Agbara Engineering marks a pivotal moment in WSB’s journey to build a national energy practice,” said Bret Weiss, president and CEO of WSB. “Agbara’s deep expertise in transmission, distribution, and substation design perfectly complements our existing capabilities.”
Weiss said the move positions WSB as a leader in the power and energy space.
Agbara, founded by Jamil Newell, specializes in transmission, distribution, substation and renewable energy design. Its engineers operate across 14 states.

WSB and Agbara will unify their market strategy under the WSB brand in early 2026.
This acquisition is the fifth for WSB in the last two years, following the acquisitions of EST, AE Engineering, Meshek & Associates, and CAS Consulting & Services. The firm is a portfolio company of GHK Capital Partners LP.
The transaction was initiated and advised by Morrissey Goodale, a consulting firm serving the architecture and engineering industries.
