SYDNEY: Westpac Banking Corporation on Tuesday announced the appointment of Carolyn McCann as Chief Executive of its Consumer division, effective immediately.
McCann, who has served as Acting Chief Executive since May 12, brings nearly 30 years of corporate experience, including two decades in banking and insurance and more than a decade at Westpac.
“Carolyn is an outstanding executive and I’ve seen firsthand her ability to engage and galvanize high-performing teams to deliver results,” Westpac CEO Anthony Miller said in a statement.
Previously Group Executive of Customer and Corporate Services, McCann oversaw operations, scam and fraud prevention, customer collections and hardship, property resilience, corporate affairs and marketing. Under her leadership, Westpac reduced mortgage decision times from 12 to five days and cut scam-related losses by 40 percent through market-leading solutions.
“Carolyn’s drive, vision and determination will be an asset to the bank in this role,” Miller said. “With the right mix of experience, professionalism, teamwork and energy, we now have the team in place to lead Westpac and I’m excited for what we can achieve together.”
