SALT LAKE CITY: Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company has announced that Mountain West Utility Trailer, Inc. has acquired Utility Trailer Sales Company of Arizona.
Earlier this year, Mountain West Utility Trailer, Inc. was established when Utility Trailer Sales of Utah acquired Utility Trailer Sales of Idaho. The new dealer group is led by President and CEO Justin Deputy, along with Chief Sales Officer Spencer Deputy, both formerly of Utility Trailer Sales of Utah.
The consolidated operations now include locations in Salt Lake City and St. George, Utah; Las Vegas, Nevada; Boise and Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Spokane, Washington. With the addition of state-of-the-art facilities in Tolleson (Metro Phoenix) and Tucson, Arizona, Mountain West Utility Trailer is set to expand its customer base in the southwest region.
“We are seeing a significant shift towards larger dealer groups, typically consisting of 8 to 12 locations, which has now become the standard,” said Steve Bennett, President and COO of Utility Trailer. “As freight operations run 24/7, it is crucial that both the Utility and Cargobull dealer networks are equipped to offer parts and service on a continuous basis. By spreading the costs associated with these advancements across multiple locations, we significantly enhance the competitiveness of Utility dealers.”
Bennett added, “Looking ahead, Utility is committed to making substantial investments in the coming years. These efforts will ensure that we provide the highest level of support for our Utility and Cargobull products throughout North America.”
Spencer Deputy expressed excitement about the acquisition, saying, “With 8 locations stretching from western Washington to Arizona, we bring a high level of transport refrigeration unit expertise, which will strengthen our ability to serve our customers with the full line of Cargobull and Utility products.”
Established in 1943, Utility Trailer Sales Company of Arizona is the country’s longest continuously running Utility dealer. Under the leadership of George Cravens, the dealership experienced tremendous growth, necessitating relocations of its Phoenix operations twice. Cravens will remain part of the management team for Mountain West Utility Trailer.
