Mobile Tornado secures major contract with Middle Eastern and African MNO

LONDON: Mobile Tornado, a pioneer in push-to-talk over cellular (PTToC) and workforce management solutions, has announced a landmark contract with a leading mobile network operator (MNO) in the Middle East and Africa. This partnership is set to introduce a suite of advanced technologies to the MNO’s service offerings.

The MNO, which boasts a customer base exceeding 50 million active users, both individuals and businesses, sought to augment its mobile voice and data services. The aim was to provide enhanced solutions tailored for enterprise clients with diverse workforce needs across multiple sectors.

Following an intensive selection process that saw Mobile Tornado competing against globally recognized telecom giants, the MNO chose Mobile Tornado’s innovative technology to provide PTToC, lone worker, and live video communication services. The decision was influenced by the technology’s superior performance, including lower latency, reduced data consumption, and flawless integration across various connectivity platforms, from 2G to 5G and WiFi networks.

Customers will access Mobile Tornado’s solutions via a user-friendly application, available for download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The application’s standout features include:

  • Instantaneous voice and video calls globally at the touch of a button.
  • Comprehensive lone worker support, featuring real-time location tracking, emergency SOS alerts, inactivity monitoring, and ambient listening capabilities.
  • A data-efficient operation, with usage estimated at approximately 300MB monthly, significantly lower than other solutions in the market.

This strategic move is expected to revolutionize communication and safety protocols for enterprise customers, setting a new standard in the telecommunications sector.

Jeremy Fenn, Executive Chairman, said: ” We identified the Middle East as a crucial region for business development, and this new contract through our local partner provides us with a platform for expansion across multiple territories. Winning this deal against global OEMs is a testament to the quality of our solutions. The Push-to-Talk over Cellular market continues to gather momentum, thanks to advances in network infrastructure and widespread connectivity, making it a reliable and technically robust solution for enterprises seeking real-time communication support for their field workers. This contract, in a key target market, is a testament to the changes we made early last year and the Board looks forward to increasing sales momentum as 2024 develops.”
