German energy startup 1Komma5Grad valued at $1.35B, plans US expansion
BERLIN: German energy startup 1Komma5Grad said it was valued at $1.35 billion in its latest financing round as it ramps up investments in its energy artificial intelligence business.
The company said it will invest more than 100 million euros ($111.90 million) in its energy AI, called Heartbeat, in 2027.
1Komma5Grad, which describes itself as a home electrification company, aims through Heartbeat to automate processes including energy trading, billing and metering.
CEO Philipp Schroeder said the company plans to expand into the United States starting next year.
“We’re considering entering the US, because we’ve seen how much drive and how much interest from investors is actually behind that,” Schroeder said in an interview with Reuters.
Schroeder said the company’s performance in 2027 will be key in deciding when and whether to launch an initial public offering in the United States.
The company shelved its U.S. IPO plans in 2025 as President Donald Trump’s renewable energy and trade policies roiled markets.
1Komma5Grad in September confirmed its aim to reach revenue of around $750 million for the 2026 financial year.
