LONDON: Luceco plc, a designer and manufacturer of residential and commercial electrification products, has appointed Dr Thorsten Müller as its new chief executive officer, effective Sept. 1, 2026.
Müller will succeed John Hornby, who is retiring after 21 years leading the company. Hornby will step down from the board on the same date and remain available to the group in an advisory capacity, a statement said.
“Thorsten has a proven track record of delivering growth and innovation at industry leading technology companies serving the lighting, electrification and energy management segments,” said Giles Brand, chair of Luceco. “He brings all the necessary skills and experience to drive the continued execution of our strategy to deliver compounding growth and attractive returns.”
Müller most recently served as divisional chief executive in the safety sector at Halma plc, a position he held since 2022. Prior to that, he held senior leadership roles at ABB, Osram and Bosch.
“Luceco’s premier brands, market-leading positions and exceptional people give me firm confidence in the core of the business, while the energy transition offers significant further upside that Luceco is exceptionally well placed to capture,” Müller said.
The appointment comes as Luceco continues to benefit from trading momentum driven by the energy transition. On July 28, the company reported strong first-half results and reaffirmed its full-year guidance for adjusted operating profit of more than £40 million for fiscal 2026.
