Tavistock acquires AI tech firm, Plus Group of Companies for £6.4 million

LONDON: Tavistock Investments Plc has acquired an 87.9% stake in Plus Group of Companies Ltd., a provider of AI Agent technology and paraplanning services to U.K. financial advisory firms, the company announced.

The initial consideration for the acquisition is £900,000 payable in cash, with an additional £3.6 million payable in cash over the next 18 months. Further deferred consideration of up to £11.5 million in cash may become payable over four years, subject to agreed performance criteria.

In its last financial year ended Sept. 30, 2025, Plus Group recorded turnover of just under £1 million and EBITDA of approximately £340,000.

The acquisition advances Tavistock’s strategy to build a technology-enabled financial services group combining advice, investment management and intelligent automation for retail investors, according to the company. It also initiates the group’s rebranding transition into Vertex Group, following the recent acquisitions of Alpha Beta Partners and Lifetime Financial Management.

Plus Group currently operates two AI Agents in production environments, has two additional agents in beta testing and is developing 10 more. The business has been working with Lifetime Financial Management over the past 12 months to develop AI-enabled solutions supporting adviser productivity and operational efficiency.

“The acquisition of Plus Group marks another important milestone in Tavistock’s long-term strategy to build a modern, technology-enabled financial services business for retail investors,” Brian Raven, chief executive of Tavistock Investments Plc, said in a statement.

“As we rebrand into Vertex Group, we are keen to become a dominant force in providing personalised, human-centric financial advice to everyone regardless of wealth. In our view, AI adoption will disrupt financial services but not by eliminating the need for advisers. Rather, it will supercharge productivity and truly open up financial advice to retail investors, beyond the privileged few.”

Scott Daniels, founder of Plus Group, said joining Tavistock represents “an exciting opportunity” for his company.

“We share a common vision of using technology to support advisers rather than replace them, allowing professionals to focus on building stronger client relationships whilst intelligent automation supports the work behind the scenes,” Daniels said.

Tavistock shares trade on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange under the ticker TAVI.
