SEATTLE: Syndio, a provider of decision intelligence software for compensation management, has acquired Embrace.ai, an agentic artificial intelligence company, for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition brings Embrace.ai’s entire team to Syndio, including founders Derek Butts and Seth Halpern, both enterprise software veterans. Butts will join Syndio as senior vice president of product strategy, while Halpern will serve as a strategic advisor.
Butts spent 13 years at Workday, where he led product marketing, managed multiple product lines and ran corporate strategy and M&A. Halpern previously led global sales operations at Workday and WP Engine and held sales roles at SAP and Siebel Systems.
“Pay decisions are among the most important decisions a company makes, and they require AI that understands the domain, data, and governance expectations of the enterprise,” Syndio CEO Maria Colacurcio said in a statement. “The Embrace.ai team was built around exactly that principle.”
The acquisition comes as Syndio pushes to expand its Decision Intelligence for Pay platform, which helps global enterprises analyze, govern and improve compensation decisions at scale. The company serves nearly 400 global enterprises, including more than half the Fortune 100, and governs pay decisions for over 10 million employees across 100 countries.
Syndio said the Embrace.ai team will accelerate its agentic AI roadmap and strengthen governance and explainability for complex compensation decisions. The company launched its Decisions product in May, which provides real-time pay recommendations to recruiters and managers.
“Every pay decision carries consequences for the employee and the employer, so AI has to be accurate, understand deep context, and support, not replace, human judgment,” Butts said in a statement. “Syndio understands that deeply.”
Embrace.ai focused on deploying AI-driven automation across business workflows. Syndio said the team’s experience building enterprise-grade agentic systems will help meet customer demand for pay governance solutions.
Syndio’s platform integrates with HRIS, ATS and HCM systems, as well as Microsoft Teams and Slack, embedding pay intelligence into existing workflows where compensation decisions occur.
The company’s clients include Salesforce, American Airlines, Siemens, Ford and Microsoft.
