Doctor Care Anywhere acquires UK weight-loss business in £850,000 deal

UK weight loss

LONDON: Doctor Care Anywhere Group PLC has entered the fast-growing UK weight management market with a £850,000 acquisition of a GLP-1 and medicated weight-loss business, the company announced.

The ASX-listed telehealth provider purchased the ongoing operations of Outcome Diagnostics Limited and Medic Spot Limited, which generated £5.3 million in revenue over the 12 months ending March 2026. The business, launched in October 2024, serves the UK direct-to-consumer market with online weight management solutions.

The acquisition price represents a 0.16x enterprise value-to-sales multiple. The business is broadly breakeven on standalone EBITDA, according to the company.

Doctor Care Anywhere funded the purchase from its existing cash balance of £7 million as of March 31, 2026. The deal includes no earn-out or deferred consideration.

“This acquisition gives DCA an immediate presence in the fast-growing UK weight management market and adds a complementary service that is in strong demand,” the company said in a statement.

The 11-person weight management team will join Doctor Care Anywhere, bringing proven direct-to-consumer capabilities. The company plans to cross-sell weight management services to existing customers and expand its GLP-1 offerings.

“Credit to Laura and the DCA executive leadership team for identifying a strategic acceleration opportunity, moving decisively to secure a transaction in the interests of DCA shareholders,” said John Stier, chairman of Doctor Care Anywhere.

Laura O’Riordan, CEO of Doctor Care Anywhere, said: “I am delighted to welcome the Medicspot team to DCA! Both teams are excited by the opportunity to grow faster by collaborating.”

The sellers are not related parties, and the transaction does not require shareholder approval under ASX Listing Rules.

Editor’s commentary: At £850,000 for an £11 million revenue stream, this looks like a bargain-bin steal — but the “broadly breakeven” EBITDA caveat is the tell. DCA isn’t buying profits; it’s buying a proven D2C engine and a hot-button product category. The real test won’t be Day 1 revenue, but whether integration and cross-selling actually move the needle beyond a shiny topline. On paper, smart. On execution, TBD.
