Crowd Funding Funding Give Help Nonprofit Concept

LONDON: Mindflair plc, the AIM-quoted company focused on investing in Artificial Intelligence (“AI”), related technology notes that Captur has announced the successful completion of a US$6 million seed funding round led by Rally Ventures, with additional participation from existing investor Sure Valley Ventures (“SVV”). Captur, is a portfolio company held within SVV’s second fund (“SVV2”) in which Mindflair has an interest.

Captur is an AI infrastructure company for enterprise mobile applications that instantly verifies user-submitted photos for quality and accuracy. The company’s technology runs directly on users’ mobile devices, analysing images in approximately 30 milliseconds without requiring an internet connection or cloud-based inference. Captur currently processes tens of millions of images monthly across delivery, mobility and e-commerce platforms.

The funding will be used to expand Captur’s team and accelerate product development as it scales its edge AI engine across additional industry verticals, building on its traction in logistics, micro-mobility and retail.

Captur’s platform is designed to solve what it describes as AI’s “last-mile problem” in real-world image capture. When companies require photographic proof of an event or task – such as a delivery, a parked vehicle or a completed inspection – the quality and usefulness of that image can be critical. Captur addresses this by running computer vision models entirely on-device, enabling real-time image verification and feedback before a user completes a transaction.

The company states that its technology delivers human-level or better accuracy across more than 6,000 mobile device types. By processing images on-device rather than in the cloud, Captur aims to provide instant verification, flat scaling costs and improved user experience.

Captur was founded by Charlotte Bax, Founder and Chief Executive Officer. As part of the financing, Ben Fried, Venture Partner at Rally Ventures and former Chief Information Officer of Google, will join Captur’s Board of Directors.

Nicholas Lee, Director of Mindflair plc, commented: “Captur is addressing a significant practical challenge in the deployment of AI in enterprise mobile workflows. Its ability to deliver real-time, on-device image verification across a broad range of handsets represents a compelling technical achievement and a strong commercial proposition. We are pleased to see the company attract the support of Rally Ventures and to secure this latest round of funding as it continues to scale.”
