SYDNEY: Australian-listed advanced manufacturer Titomic Limited (ASX:TTT) said on Thursday it secured its first contract in Portugal, selling a cold spray additive manufacturing system to a leading research institute for studies into long-term corrosion protection in the oil and gas industry.
The purchase order from the Institute for Sustainability and Innovation in Structural Engineering (ISISE) is valued at 135,000 euros ($238,800), Titomic said in a statement.
ISISE, a joint research center of the University of Coimbra and the University of Minho, will use the medium-pressure Titomic Kinetic Fusion (TKF) 623 system to support its work developing solutions for extreme environments, a key research area.
“We are extremely excited about Titomic’s innovative technology in supporting additive manufacturing and corrosion repair and protection in the harsh environments of the Oil and Gas Sector,” said Artur Jorge dos Santos Mateus, a principal researcher at ISISE.
Titomic’s cold spray technology, which bonds metal powders at high velocities without melting, is used for manufacturing parts and conducting repairs in sectors like aerospace, defense, and energy.
“This order… underscores our ongoing commitment to commercializing our technology across industries where advanced performance, speed, and precision are paramount,” said Titomic CEO and Managing Director Jim Simpson.
The company, which is headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama, with a presence in Australia and Europe, said the structural engineering sector represents a significant strategic growth area.
