GovHost acquires True North Software to expand cloud-based public safety platform

GovHost True North acquisition

COLUMBIA — GovHost, a U.S.-based provider of public safety software, said on Tuesday it has acquired True North Software LLC, an Illinois firm specializing in cloud-native Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Records Management System (RMS) solutions for small and mid-sized law enforcement agencies.

The deal marks a strategic expansion for GovHost, which aims to unify CAD, RMS, and Jail Management System (JMS) capabilities under a single cloud platform. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

“This is a powerful step forward for GovHost and the agencies we serve,” said CEO Kyle Indermuehle. “True North’s cloud-native CAD software completes our platform vision and enhances our ability to serve agencies that have historically been underserved by vendors.”

True North, founded in 2003, is known for its rapid deployment model, LEADS 3.0 integration, and real-time NIBRS validation. The company will continue operating independently, with key leadership remaining in place.

“Joining GovHost allows us to scale our vision while staying true to our roots,” said Greg Whitt, COO of True North Software. “We gain the resources to move faster, go further, and deliver even more value to our customers.”

GovHost has recently launched a full suite of cloud-based public safety products, including Cloud RMS, Cloud JMS (JMax), and now Cloud CAD powered by True North’s technology. The company’s legacy platforms—Alert CAD and RMS, Sentinel Mobile, and IMACS JMS—remain widely used across small and mid-sized U.S. markets.
