Apple to shift new iPhone launch date schedule starting in 2026

Apple Inc. plans to change its iPhone launch schedule beginning in 2026, according to a report. Instead of releasing all flagship models in the fall, the company will introduce Pro models in the fall and standard iPhones in the spring.

The shift is reportedly intended to accommodate new additions to the lineup, including a rumored foldable iPhone and an “iPhone Air,” which may debut this fall alongside other models.

If the new schedule takes effect, consumers could see the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max and a foldable model in fall 2026, followed by the iPhone 18, iPhone 18 Air and possibly an “iPhone 18e” in spring 2027.

The report also provided new details about upcoming models. This year’s iPhone 17 Air is expected to have shorter battery life due to its thin design, but Apple may offer an optional battery case to address the issue.

For the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, Apple is said to be developing under-display Face ID technology, leaving only a small circular cutout for the front-facing camera in the screen’s upper left corner. Previous reports have suggested similar designs, though it remains unclear how this would affect the Dynamic Island feature.

Additionally, The Information claims Apple plans to release an all-screen iPhone in 2027 with no visible front camera or Face ID cutouts.
