After more than three decades of service, Marco Settembri, the Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé’s Zone Europe, is set to retire on June 30, 2024. Settembri, who joined Nestlé Italy in 1987, has been instrumental in steering the company to new heights.

Under his leadership, Purina PetCare became one of the most profitable segments within Nestlé’s European market. His tenure also saw him at the helm of Zone EMENA before taking charge of Zone Europe after the company’s reorganization in 2022.

Succeeding Settembri, Guillaume Le Cunff, the current CEO of Nespresso, will take over as CEO Zone Europe and join the Group Executive Board starting July 1, 2024. Le Cunff’s journey with Nestlé began in 1998, and he has since played pivotal roles in Internal Audit, Finance, and as President of Nespresso USA.

Known for his innovative approach, Le Cunff was behind the successful launch of the Vertuo line and the establishment of Nespresso as a leading brand among American coffee enthusiasts.

As the global CEO of Nespresso, he spearheaded significant initiatives like Reviving Origins and the development of eco-friendly home-compostable capsules.

The transition marks a significant change in leadership for Nestlé’s European operations, as the company continues to adapt and grow in the ever-evolving global market.

Mark Schneider, CEO, commented, “On behalf of our Board of Directors and our Executive Board, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Marco for his many years of outstanding service to Nestlé. We wish him great success and fulfillment in this new phase of his life. At the same time, we are delighted to announce that Guillaume is taking over as the new CEO of Zone Europe.

Guillaume is an inspiring and seasoned business leader with extensive experience in brand building, innovation, e-commerce and sustainability. He is the ideal leader to take Zone Europe to the next level. We wish Guillaume every success in his new role.”
