Zaptec appoints Kurt Østrem as new CEO

OSLO, NORWAY: Zaptec ASA, the leading electric vehicle charging company, has announced that Kurt Østrem will be its new CEO, effective from 22nd February 2024. Østrem, who has been the CFO and Acting CEO of Zaptec for the third time, has been selected after a thorough and wide-ranging recruitment process.

Stig H. Christiansen, Chair of Zaptec, said that Østrem has the experience, the vision and the ambition to drive the further development of Zaptec in the best interest of its stakeholders. He also praised the other candidates who showed interest and competence in the process.

Østrem said that he is excited to take the company to the next level and to work with the talented team that delivers quality chargers throughout Europe. He also highlighted the achievements of Zaptec, which began its journey in 2012 and had a breakthrough in 2017 when it produced its first electric vehicle charger. Since then, Zaptec has reached several milestones, including producing half a million chargers and patenting its charging technology in 2023.
