Empower’s summer campaign succeeds in rationalizing energy consumption, reducing bills

DUBAI: Empower, the world’s largest district cooling services provider, announced the success of its summer campaign ‘Set and Save 24°C’ to reduce energy consumption and bills.

The campaign, which runs until the end of summer, aims to promote sustainability among its customers and provide eco-friendly and high-quality district cooling services. The company said that it gave customers useful tips to achieve their goals, such as setting the AC thermostat at 24°C, keeping the AC filter clean, closing curtains, sealing windows and doors, tinting glass, reducing heat sources and doing regular home maintenance.

Empower said that it received more than 10,000 phone calls and 11,500 electronic messages from its customers between June and August 2023, showing their high awareness and engagement with the campaign. The company also said that it communicated with its more than 110,000 customers in residential and commercial buildings to encourage them to rationalize district cooling consumption.

The campaign, which is in its tenth year, educates customers about the benefits of setting the AC temperature at 24°C for optimal cooling, lower bills and environmental protection.

Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower, thanked the customers and said: “We all benefit from the service and care about saving energy. This practice is good for us and future generations”.

He also said that reducing district cooling energy consumption in summer is vital for preserving natural resources and the environment.

He added: “Empower follows the Green Economy for Sustainable Development initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and adopted by the Dubai government to reduce climate change impacts and ensure a better future. The initiative aims to cut electricity and water consumption by 30%, making Dubai a global leader in green economy and low carbon footprint by 2050”.
