LONDON, UK: Oberon Investments Group, the boutique wealth management and corporate broking group, announced the appointment of Gemma Claire Godfrey as Non-Executive Director with effect from 6 September 2021.

Gemma Godfrey is a non-executive director and former entrepreneur. She was the founder and CEO of Moola Systems Limited from September 2015 until November 2019, an FCA authorised digital investment service, which was acquired by a FTSE 250 insurer Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group in July 2018.

She pioneered new technology in financial services (fintech) and went on to launch a digital media business for News UK.

Since 2020, Gemma Godfrey has been a non-executive director of national IFA network, Independent Wealth Planners UK Limited (IWP), a non-executive director of a NASDAQ-listed sustainable energy solutions company, VivoPower International plc, and a non-executive director of an advanced technologies company, Creativemass Enterprises Pty Ltd.

She is a business expert on ITV’s Good Morning Britain and an ambassador for the charity Surviving Economic Abuse.

Gemma Godfrey was a boardroom adviser to Arnold Schwarzenegger on The Apprentice. Furthermore, Gemma was an advisor to the UK Government on its 10-year strategy to improve the nation’s financial wellbeing.

She was previously head of investment strategy at Brooks Macdonald Group plc, having started her career at Goldman Sachs and GAM Holding AG, with a background in quantum physics.

Simon McGivern, CEO of Oberon Investments Group, commented: “We are delighted to have Gemma onboard with Oberon. Gemma brings with her a well-established career in the investment and fund management sector and will add significant value as Oberon continues to reach new heights.”

Oberon operates in the UK wealth and fund management sector and in the corporate broking and financial advisory sectors. Since Oberon Investments Ltd was established in April 2017, Oberon group’s AUA have grown to in excess of £600 million in June 2021.

This has been achieved organically by adding new clients and new fund managers, attracted by the emerging brand and by a number of small, selective and accretive acquisitions. Oberon Capital, the corporate broking division, launched in May 2020, provides advice and raises capital for companies from seed and early-stage funding through to IPO and beyond.
