OSLO, NORWAY: Nordic Unmanned has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with OMNI Taxi Aereo (OTA), a leading Brazilian air transport operator providing aeromedical assistance, offshore, and fixed wing charter services.
Their largest segment is oil and gas clients, and their customer list includes names like Petrobras, Total, Repsol and ExxonMobil.
Knut Roar Wiig, CEO at Nordic Unmanned stated: “We are excited to work with OMNI, for the sale and marketing of our products and services in Brazil. The company has much experience in their organization and over half a million flight hours across their fleet serving the oil and gas industry for over 20 years.
This aligns with our previous communicated expansion plan into South America, and we look forward to supporting our clients in anew part of the world.”
The intent of the MOU is to jointly explore opportunities, through a market feasibility study, pilot project, marketing, representation, agency, joint venture or other arrangement for the sale and marketing of Nordic Unmanned’ s and OMNI’s drone products and services for certain customers in Brazil.
OMNI will coordinate introductions to potential clients and investigate potential projects to be mutually developed by both companies.
In 2018, Omni initiated a drone service to support the oil and gas, agribusiness, and power generation industries with aerial monitoring and/or maintenance inspections. For these solutions, they chose aircraft and sensors from external partners.
Roberto Coimbra, CEO at OMNI Taxi Aero: “We at OMNI are very excited with the recent achievements of Nordic Unmanned in Europe and we believe that combining their technology with our expertise and leadership in Brazil will create ideal solutions for our clients especially in BVLOS missions.”
