The company was recently named one of the world’s top ten safest airlines by airlineratings.com, the world’s only safety and product rating agency, and 2020 Airline of the Year by ATW

GENEVA: Wizz Air Holdings Plc, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, announced that it will open three new bases in Germany, Romania and Russia and expand its existing base in Belgrade, Serbia, deploying seven aircraft and launching 44 new routes to:

–     Bacău, Romania: two based aircraft, 12 new routes

–     Belgrade, Serbia: one additional aircraft, taking the base to 03 aircraft and 09 new routes

–     Dortmund, Germany: three based aircraft, 18 new routes

–     St. Petersburg, Russia: one based aircraft, five new routes

József Váradi, Wizz Air’s Chief Executive Officer said: “I am delighted to announce that Wizz Air is further expanding its network in Germany, Romania, Russia and Serbia. We continue take advantage of market opportunities and re-stimulate demand for low-cost travel. This expansion further contributes to the vital recovery of the economy in our markets and we remain focused on best servicing them, while protecting the health of our customers and employees. Our ever-disciplined attitude to cost and our solid balance sheet ensure that we remain a most formidable business under any market circumstance.”
