VANCOUVER – pH7 Technologies Inc., a pioneer in commercially scalable critical metal extraction solutions, today announced the initial closing of USD $25.6 million as part of its Series B financing round.
The round was led by Fine Structure Ventures, with BHP Ventures joining as a key strategic investor. They were supported by Energy & Environment Investment (EEI), Siteground, Gaingels Fund, and Calm Venture. Existing investors, including TDK Ventures, Pangaea Ventures, Rhapsody Venture Partners, and BASF Venture Capital, also continued their participation.
The funds will accelerate the scaling and commercialization of pH7’s proprietary extraction technology, beginning with copper. The company’s closed-loop organo-electrochemical process enables the economic recovery of metals from lower-grade ores and complex feedstocks previously considered uneconomic, aiming to unlock new domestic sources of copper, nickel, and platinum group metals (PGMs).
“This Series B funding is a major validation of our technology for the economic value it brings to miners and metal producers,” said Mohammad Doostmohammadi, CEO of pH7 Technologies.
“We are accelerating the transition from pilot to commercial deployments… At a time of global scarcity and geopolitical resource competition, our technology provides a new pathway for nations to secure resilient, domestic sources of the metals that underpin modern infrastructure and the energy transition.”
The technology is designed to integrate into existing mining operations, improving project economics while reducing environmental impact, energy use, and wastewater generation compared to traditional methods.
“We’re excited to back pH7 as they unlock a new source of critical minerals by making extraction from previously uneconomic ores commercially viable,” said Shyam Kamadolli, Managing Director at Fine Structure Ventures.
Laurel Buckner, VP of Ventures at BHP, added: “At BHP Ventures, we believe this kind of leap in extraction technology could transform our ability to source the critical minerals the world urgently needs.”
pH7 has already commercialized its technology for PGMs at a facility in Vancouver and is advancing mining-sector pilots toward full-scale deployment.
pH7 Technologies is a Canadian company developing next-generation extraction technologies for critical minerals. Its proprietary process enables economic metal recovery from low-grade ores, tailings, and complex feedstocks, supporting more resilient and sustainable supply chains.
