Innovate UK has launched a new £100m programme called BridgeAI, which aims to boost the UK economy’s growth and competitiveness through the adoption of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
The initiative is partly funded by Innovate UK and the Technologies Mission Fund and will bring together AI experts and developers with businesses from priority sectors to create an AI innovation network in the UK.
The programme’s focus will be on high-growth potential sectors such as agriculture, construction, transportation, and creative industries, which currently have low adoption rates of AI.
The upcoming competition, ‘Feasibility Studies for AI Solutions,’ will invest up to £5 million in short-term AI innovation projects for micro, small, or medium-sized UK registered enterprises in these four sectors.
The programme is expected to boost productivity and efficiency through the responsible implementation of AI, with the ultimate goal of helping UK businesses compete more effectively on the global stage.
